Conventional alternators have a field winding which can be used to regulate the alternator output. PM Alternators use permanent magnets instead of a field winding and operate at higher power-size ratios, compared to conventional designs. However, as they lack a field winding, they cannot be regulated to provide a constant output for electrical load and speed variations. 

MEGAMIC’s Active Rectifier Regulator converts the unregulated AC output of the PM Alternator to provide a constant DC output, irrespective of variations in the speed of the alternator or the loading conditions. 

The Regulator consists of two modules: 
  • Single-board Active Rectifier Controller 
  • Active Rectifier Power Stack, customized for the Power rating of the Alternator 

Electronic Regulator for Alternators with Field winding

MEGAMIC’s Electronic Regulator primarily controls the field circuit of conventional Alternators to provide a constant DC output, irrespective of variations in the speed of the alternator or the loading conditions. This product uses latest Digital Power controllers to give superior performance (output ripple) compared to conventional methods like magnetic amplifiers. 

In addition to output voltage regulation, the product integrates multiple important functions such as Startup, Protections, Multiple System Parameter monitoring and Data Logging etc – it is a Complete System Master. 

The Regulator consists of two modules: 
  • Electronic Regulator Controller, a Single-board Universal board that can be used for wide range of Alternator power ratings. 
  • Field Circuit Power Stage, which is customized according to the Power rating of the Alternator.
